Biowire,
based in Toronto,
is a global
network of concerned individuals, educators and scientists who wish to
engage the public about developments in the life sciences, with a particular
focus on biotechnology and nanotechnology.
In biowire.org,
we monitor,
examine, evaluate, inform and offer opinion on research and applications in
the life sciences, and consider their impacts on our food, health,
agriculture, environment and culture.
We look at biotechnologies and nanotechnologies "under the microscope" and
in the contexts where they are applied, taking a special interest in the
ethical implications and potential ecological consequences of scientific
progress in this realm.
